What was the viking invation?

The viking invasion was a way for vikings to get new land and settle. The vikings went directly across the north sea from Norway which provide a vulnerable target. In 840, Thorgis a Norse viking invaded Ireland. From this point Ireland was used for a primarily military base. The vikings went by phases for invading land. First they would go after the guards or as we would put it the military. The second phase was to go after farmers and the farmers we the most easy targets for land and crops. The third phase was to take the citizens and then turn them into vikings or slaves.
The last phase was the most hardest. It involved allot of weapons. The vikings had to go and train all the new vikings and then teach them all of these phases and then let them go invade new land so the vikings could become the most powerful army of them all. The Vikings were the most successful army to invade land.
